The “Best question” award on graphene chemistry and materials science
In science, it is often more important to ask the right questions than to know all the answers.
We know that graphene is potentially good for many things, but which of the different promising research results already obtained will really have an impact on science and society?
To stimulate constructive discussion during the workshop and to involve young researchers in the debate, we would like you to submit the questions you want to ask to our speakers.
The questions should be related to the future trends and potential applications of graphene and related materials in the fields of chemistry and materials science.
Avoid questions of which you can already guess the answer. Be critic, constructive and sharp, don’t be sarcastic.
The questions selected will be proposed to our speakers and discussed during the workshop roundtable, mentioning the name and affiliation of the proposer.
The proposers of the most intelligent and challenging questions will be awarded as detailed here below.
Everybody can submit his/her questions. Your support is valuable.
“Best question” award guidelines
Eligibility: the competition is open to any M.Sc. student, Ph.D. student, postdoc. or researcher. Due to the dual objectives of recognizing and encouraging student effort, we may take the age and experience of participants into account in assigning the prize. Researchers and students working in the group of any of the workshop speakers are not eligible for the prize.
Nature of Award: up to 3 among the proposers whose questions are selected will be awarded with a Nokia smartphone. Being selected for the award does not imply to give a talk or present a poster at the conference. The winners should be present during the workshop to obtain the prize. Workshop organization reserves the right not to award the prizes, or to award only part of them, if it deems that entries are not of sufficient caliber.
Please submit your questions not later than March 27th, 2012. More details will follow.
“Best question” award procedure
